Enfant de la Terre – exposition photographique de l’artiste Samian
With his first exhibition Child of the Earth the Algonquin artist Samian proposes 36 portraits in black and white. In this photographic journey, he silently tells stories of humans crossed on his way. Through his pictures, he looks at children and elderly people, sometimes serious, sometimes radiant, from Morocco, Nicaragua, Egypt, Costa Rica, Cuba, New Caledonia and more.
Shared lands
Shared lands invite you to explore the theme of the territory: ancestral territories, imagined territories, disputed territories, shared territories. The works created for the exhibition investigate the complexity, the richness and the ambiguity of this notion, sometimes accepted, and sometimes disputed, of shared lands. This exhibition offers you an incursion into a world where Indigenous worldview, interconnectivity and orality play a leading role.
Offerings
The exhibition Offerings is a multimedia installation that proposes a reflection on the value and meaning of offerings. In many Indigenous cultures, offering is a spiritual, social and political gesture. The exhibition Offerings explores the complexity and diversity of the different practices associated with the gesture of offering. It is also an innovative opportunity for artists and members of Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities to work together to create a work in constant evolution.
